Savory Wedge Bread Recipe

PRINT RECIPE

It was a cold and dreary day here in Pennsylvania, and I wanted comfort and thought of soup...and bread. Unfortunately, bread is one of my weaknesses...and chocolate...and cheese...hmmm,  I may  have to go to weakness anonymous.

All kidding aside, this bread is perfect, it's light and fluffy with just a hint of heat.  Try serving this along with our White Bean Chili With Jalapeno Peppers.

Ingredients

Preparation

Combine all ingredients except for the Parmesan cheese.

Spread dough in a greased 8-inch round pan.  Sprinkle cheese over the dough before baking at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, or until done.

Cut into wedges to serve.  A perfect accompaniment to one of our fabulous soups.  Happy Cooking!

Cilantro Lime Corn on the Cob Recipe

PRINT RECIPE

Corn on the cob, a quintessential must for summer!  For this recipe, we've spiced things up and decided to try our Chardonnay Lime & Cilantro Seasoning on corn.  Oh my goodness!  As if corn on the cob, slathered with butter, could get any better!  It will definitely be a party in your mouth.

Ingredients

Preparation

Fill a large pot with water.  Turn stove on high.  Place pot on the stove and when water comes to a boil, place corn in the water.  Cook the corn for about three minutes, or until corn is done to your likeness.

While corn is cooking, melt butter and  Cherchies® Chardonnay Lime & Cilantro Seasoning in a microwave.  Try our other seasoning blends to "spice things up".

Drain corn and pour butter mixture over corn.  Enjoy!

Pepper Jam Grilled Pineapple Recipe

PRINT RECIPE

It's grilling season folks!  If you've never had grilled pineapple, you're in for a real treat!  Grilling brings out the sweet juices in the pineapple, and your taste buds will thank you.  I could have stopped there, but I decided to try our pepper jams as a glaze.  Oh my goodness, I had the best of both worlds...sweet and spicy.

Ingredients

Preparation

Lightly brush grill with oil.  Turn the grill on high and turn down to low after 5 minutes. Remove scales from pineapple with a knife and slice pineapple into 3/4 inch slices.

Coring the pineapple is the next step and completely optional (The core does become tender during the grilling process, which makes it perfectly edible).  I prefer to core the pineapple as it's all about the presentation.   I use an apple corer I've had for years, but you could easily cut out the core with a knife.

Once the grill is heated, place pineapple slices on the grill and grill for 3-4 minutes (more depending on thickness of the pineapple) on each side.  As the pineapple finishes cooking, brush on the pepper jam for that sweet and spicy deliciousness!  You could stop with just the grilled pineapple depending on your preference, but then you'd be missing out on a party in your mouth:)

Remove from grill and enjoy!  This would be great served with ice cream...hmmm:)

Lemon Dill Mashed Potatoes Recipe

Lem 'n Dill Mashed Potatoes Recipe

Lem 'n Dill Mashed Potatoes Recipe

Mashed potatoes in my opinion, are the quintessential comfort food. This recipe adds a new "twist" to regular mashed potatoes.  In this recipe, we used Cherchies Lem 'n Dill Seasoning to add a nice zing to the potatoes. Another option would be to experiment with some of our other spices.  Garlic Potatoes, made with our Cherchies Garlic Seasoning or Garlic 'n Herbs No-Salt Seasoning would be a refreshing substitution.  For those who like to "spice things up", our Select Grilling Rub and Seasoning would make the perfect compliment to a Tex-Mex dish.

Ingredients

PRINT RECIPE
  • 8-10 Gold potatoes, peeled and cut in half
  • 10 cups of water, or enough to cover potatoes
  • 1-2 teaspoons (tsp) salt
  • 3 Tablespoons (Tbsp.) Butter
  • 4 oz. Cream Cheese, room temperature
  • 1 Tablespoon (Tbsp), or more to taste Cherchies Lem 'n Dill Seasoning
  • 1/3 cup 1/2 and 1/2 (add more or less for desired consistency)

Preparation

In a large pot, boil potatoes in water with 1-2 teaspoons of salt, until potatoes are fork tender (this means they seem tender when you put a fork into them).  Drain potatoes, and while potatoes are still hot, add butter and Lem 'n Dill seasoning (or if you were really organized, you could dip into your premade Cherchies Herbed Butter Recipe).  This can either be done right in the pan or in a large bowl.

Add 1/2 and 1/2 (more or less depending on taste...everyone has his or her own consistency preference), and cream cheese.  Mix with a mixer until potatoes are light and fluffy.

My mouth is watering...Grab a spoon.  Enjoy!
