Canadian Bacon Egg Casserole Recipe

Do you love breakfast casseroles?  We do! Breakfast casseroles are perfect for holidays, brunches, family gatherings, or even dinner because they can be made ahead, which leaves more time for you to enjoy the things that matter most, like sleep, and family, and sleep;)

We also love when our friends across the nation share their favorite Cherchies® recipes with us! Thank you Colleen, from Pennsylvania, for sharing this delicious hearty breakfast recipe! Your secret ingredient made this egg dish divine!  Eggs, Canadian Bacon, French Bread, and cheese, how could you go wrong, right?  But what if you added dill to this tasty mix?  Dill and eggs? Absolutely!  Hello! Colleen used Cherchies® Lem'n Dill Seasoning in this casserole, which in our opinion elevated this recipe from great to awesome!

You need to add this breakfast casserole to your list of favorite recipes, as you will not be disappointed.  Make it the night before, let it soak in the refrigerator over night, and its ready to plop in the oven the next morning, allowing you extra time for whatever is important to you!

Thank you for stopping by!

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of French Bread, crusts removed, cubed
  • 1 lb. Canadian bacon, diced
  • 8 eggs, beaten to blend
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup shredded Jalapeno Jack Cheese
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons (Tbsp.) Cherchies® Lem'n Dill Seasoning Blend
  • 4 cooked potatoes, sliced

Preparation
Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and set aside.  Wash potatoes.  In a medium pan, boil potatoes (ok to leave skin on) until potatoes are al dente (or just about cooked). Drain the potatoes.  Allow potatoes to cool before slicing.

Dice Canadian bacon.

Arrange the bread cubes and potatoes in the bottom of prepared pan.  Then add diced bacon.  Pour beaten eggs over top (I took this photo before I beat the eggs).  Top with cheese and Lem'n Dill.

Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Remove foil.  Bake the casserole until eggs are set, approximately 35 minutes. Cool 5 minutes.  Serve hot and enjoy!

The Best Darn Garlic Bread Recipe

Cook Time: About 10 minutes
Difficulty: Easy

There's just something to be said about garlic bread...the smell, the crunch, the taste...the comfort.  It is perfect for sopping up sauces, soups or serving as a side to any dish.  This garlic bread recipe is a winner, hands down and is definitely deserving of the title, Best Darn Garlic Bread Recipe!

What is the secret ingredient in our Best Darn Garlic Bread Recipe? It is Cherchies® Garlic Seasoning Blend, one of our oldest, most requested seasoning blends since 1980, and my all-purpose seasoning for most of my dishes, especially Garlic Bread!  Here is what our friends from across the country have said about Cherchies® Garlic Seasoning...

"I have been in love with this seasoning since 2012. I discovered the garlic Seasoning at the Pecan Store in Alabama. Other than eggs, I only use this seasoning with pepper... It makes beans, vegetables, and soups delicious. There is no greater garlic combination of flavoring".  LaRonda from Missouri

"My sister in law & I were " turned on" to this spice about 22 years ago...we use it in a ton of our cooking. It always must be in our kitchen and when company pops in - it is our dip of choice. It goes on meat, potatoes & veggies". LOVE CHERCHIES. Marianne from Connecticut

Awww, we love you too!  Thank you!

This recipe is super easy!  For this recipe, I used Ciabatta rolls in lieu of Italian bread because I love the nooks and crannies and wanted to experiment.  I often change the bread, sometimes I substitute the butter for Olive oil, and sometimes depending on my mood may add cheese to the garlic bread, but I always use Cherchies® Garlic Seasoning, a staple in our kitchen and one that should be in yours too.

Try it and let us know what you think!  Thank you for stopping by:)

Ingredients

  • 1 Ciabatta rolls, sliced in half (feel free to use your favorite Italian bread or baguette)
  • Room-temperature butter (about 1 1/2 Tbsp. per slice, but who's measuring, go on and slather)
  • Cherchies® Garlic Seasoning Blend or try our Cherchies® No-Salt Garlic'n Herbs Seasoning Blend

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Slice the rolls or bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet. Spread butter over the bread and sprinkle with a generous amount of Cherchies® Garlic Seasoning (maybe 1 Tablespoon or so, once again not measuring).  I would evenly coat the bread with a light dusting of Cherchies® Garlic Seasoning.  You can always add more when you go to taste the garlic bread.

Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes or until bread is lightly golden brown.  You want that nice crunch when you first bite into the garlic bread as well as the soft buttery garlicky bread inside.  Remove the tray from the oven and cut the rolls in half or the bread into 2-inch slices and serve immediately.  Enjoy!

Blackberry Chicken Flatbread Recipe

I love experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes, new flavors, new textures, and new uses for leftovers, and this recipe in particular caught my eye.  My hubby calls these type of recipes, "girlie" (meaning he won't touch them), but I call them "all the more for me and my friends" recipes;)

This "girlie" recipe is adapted from Lively Table, with a few Cherchies® tweaks, but it's full of flavor and texture...kind of like me :), and it features our Whole Note Pizza Crust Mix, our award-winning Cherchies® Champagne Mustard, juicy blackberries, and delicious melty cheese.  Yum! This flatbread would make the perfect light appetizer or lunch.

Thank you for stopping by!

Ingredients

  • 1 Whole Note Pizza Crust Mix (Feel free to use your favorite flatbread as a substitute)
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon (tsp) Cherchies® Garlic'n Herbs Seasoning Blend
  • 1 Tablespoon (Tbsp.) Cherchies® Champagne Mustard
  • 1 (4oz.) ball fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced into thin slices
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 1/4 cup shaved fennel, plus 1-2 tbsp fronds for garnish
  • 2-4 oz thinly sliced grilled chicken (about 1/2 small breast). Leftover chicken is also perfect
  • 1/2 cup blackberries
  • 1-2 tbsp balsamic reduction

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven and pizza stone to 425° F.
  2. For the Balsamic Reduction, place 1/4 cup of Balsamic vinegar in a small sauce pan.  Cook the vinegar on medium-low until vinegar has reduced to a thick syrupy consistency (about 2 Tablespoons)
  3. Prepare the Whole Note Pizza Crust according to package directions.
  4. Roll out the pizza crust and place on a preheated pizza stone.
  5. Lightly spread oil over crust.  Sprinkle Cherchies® Garlic'n Herbs Seasoning Blend over the dough. Next, spread the Cherchies® Champagne Mustard over the pizza crust. Then top the crust with cheese, onion, fennel bulb, and chicken.
  6. Bake the loaded flatbread for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fennel fronds (fancy for the green fennel tips, chopped) and drizzle with the balsamic reduction. Cut into squares and serve immediately.  Enjoy!

Enjoy!
